Category A-listed St Magnus Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in Scotland, and the most northerly Cathedral in the United Kingdom.
Known as the ‘Light in the North’, it was founded in 1137 by the Viking, Earl Rognvald, in honour of his uncle St. Magnus who was martyred in Orkney. The Cathedral belongs to the people of Orkney.
We are appointed by Orkney Islands Council to undertake quinquennial inspections and to advise on routine repair and maintenance work to the fabric of the Cathedral.
