Forming part of James Gillespie Graham’s Moray Place, this private residence was carefully restored and altered to provide a modern family home based on the original 1822 layout on entrance and principal floors. The oval cupola within the main stair hall which had been concealed by a false ceiling was revealed and carefully repaired. The basement included original stone shelved wine cellars and original laundry equipment which was recorded prior to alteration to form a music room, home cinema and guest accommodation. Paint analysis revealed a marbled ashlar block decoration scheme which was fully reinstated. Other work included re-forming the original entrance stove alcove and a new inner screen based on the surviving evidence.
