The Interim Scottish Parliament

Simpson & Brown was commissioned by the Scottish Office to convert the Church of Scotland Assembly Hall as interim accommodation for the new Scottish Parliament. Work was completed for the state opening of Parliament by the Queen in July 1999.

Morgan Academy

The Morgan Academy in Dundee was devastated by fire in 2001. Simpson & Brown was appointed by Dundee City Council to restore the original part of the building.

The sensitive adaptation of the 17th century category A listed manse building to offices was based on thorough documentary and physical research. The three storey building has been Simpson & Brown's main office in Edinburgh since 2000.

The Buttress

The Buttress is a complex amalgamation of structures dating back to the 13th century. Simpson & Brown have been involved in the restoration of the building for over 30 years. It has now been adapted to form a restaurant with offices above.

Law's Close

This remarkable building in Kirkcaldy may be the best preserved 16th century house in any Scottish burgh. After a 20 year restoration project the building now provides office space and retail units, predominantly for the creative industries.

Market Street, Haddington

24-44 Market Street incorporates elements from the 12th century to present day. The building was fully restored by Simpson & Brown with funding from Historic Scotland. Works included a new stair, roof and full internal reconstruction.
