The Canons

Comprehensive repairs and alterations to a C17 house within public parkland in south west London. Alongside the conservation works to the house the project included a new build cafe and repairs to two Grade II listed structures in the park: a dovecote and an obelisk.

The category A-listed Auchinleck House was built between 1755 and 1762. A full restoration was carried out by Simpson & Brown over two phases. The house is now a luxury holiday let run by the Landmark Trust.

We were appointed in 2009 to produce 'A Guide to Castle and Tower-House Restoration in Scotland' on behalf of Historic Scotland. The report was written by our architects, archaeologists and architectural historians.
